Automation Specialist
About The Role
We're looking for an Automation Specialist who lives and breathes workflow optimization. You'll be the architect behind our operational systems—building, debugging, and scaling the automations that keep our lead generation, verification, and CRM infrastructure humming.
This isn't a role where you follow pre-built processes. You'll own the infrastructure, make decisions about tool swaps, and have direct impact on what gets built next. You'll work closely with our founder to understand business needs and translate them into robust, scalable systems.
What You'll Do
- Design & Build Workflows: Create complex n8n workflows that integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services (HubSpot, Apollo.io, Google Sheets, Reacher SMTP, etc.)
- Database Optimization: Write and optimize MariaDB/MySQL queries, manage data pipelines, and troubleshoot complex data flows
- API Integration: Connect REST APIs, handle authentication, debug integration issues, and build custom logic to handle edge cases
- Monitor & Optimize: Track workflow health, identify bottlenecks, and continuously improve performance (speed, reliability, scalability)
- Tool Evaluation: Research new tools and integrations, test them, and recommend swaps when they deliver better results
- Documentation & Training: Keep our system architecture documented and help team members understand how workflows function
You Have (Required)
n8n Expertise
Deep hands-on experience building workflows. You've debugged HTTP requests, written JavaScript in the Code node, and optimized for performance.
API Integration
Comfortable working with REST APIs, authentication methods, JSON payloads, and troubleshooting integration issues without hand-holding.
Database Skills
Write and optimize SQL queries (SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, JOIN). Comfortable with database schemas, relationships, and performance tuning.
Problem-Solving
You dig into issues, test hypotheses, and find solutions. You're comfortable learning new tools and systems on your own.
Nice To Have
- Experience with email verification services (Reacher, Hunter.io, etc.)
- Familiarity with HubSpot or other CRM platforms
- Python scripting for data processing or batch operations
- Experience with MariaDB specifically (vs. generic MySQL)
- Lead generation or sales ops tools experience (Apollo.io, Clearbit, etc.)
- Docker or containerization basics
The Stack You'll Work With
Platforms: HubSpot (10 accounts), Apollo.io, Google Sheets, Gmail, Slack, Reacher SMTP verification, WordPress, Acelle (email sending).
Infrastructure: VPS hosting (Hostinger), Docker, cPanel, FTP, bash scripting.
